This site reads a Word document you provide and reports what that file records about its own editing history. It is free to use and offered as it is.
What the report asserts, exactly
A report from this site asserts two things and no others:
- which structures inside your file carry which revision save identifiers;
- what your file's own metadata states about itself.
It does not assert who wrote the document, that the document is authentic, when anything was written, or that no assistance of any kind was used. It is not a detection result and does not answer whether any part of the text was produced with AI assistance.
Using a report as evidence
You are welcome to present a report in a dispute about your own work. It is one piece of evidence about a file. We make no representation that any institution, employer or court will accept it, give it any particular weight, or reach any particular outcome. Decisions made by others are theirs.
What this site is not for
Do not use it to analyse documents that are not yours to analyse, and do not use it to build a case against somebody else. It is built for a person evidencing their own work.
Liability
The site is provided without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from its use or from any decision taken by anyone on the basis of a report.
