What this is not
This is not an AI detector. It returns no score, no percentage and no verdict about your writing. It shows what your file recorded about itself, so that you can present it yourself.
What this cannot tell you
- Word does not follow the ECMA specification for revision save identifiers, so the exact order of editing sessions cannot be recovered from the file.
- A writing history shows that editing happened. It does not show who did the writing.
- No writing history in a file is not a sign of wrongdoing. Exports, converters and generators all produce documents with none.
- This is not a detection result. It does not answer whether any part of the document was written with AI assistance, and it cannot.
Questions
Does my document leave my computer?
No. The analysis runs in this page, in your browser. The site has no server that receives documents — there is no upload endpoint at all — and nothing about your file is sent to analytics.
Does this prove I wrote my document?
No, and be careful of anything that claims to. It shows that a document was edited across a number of sessions and which text belongs to which one. That is evidence about the file, and it is often the evidence people are asked for, but it is not proof of authorship.
It says my file has no writing history. Did I do something wrong?
No. Word writes these markers when it saves; a file produced some other way carries none. Google Docs exports, PDF conversions, files rebuilt by a converter and documents made by a generator all arrive with nothing to read. It is a fact about how the file was produced, not about you.
Can I use the report in an academic appeal?
You can attach it as one piece of evidence about the file. Published university guidance already says a detection report alone is not sufficient evidence for an allegation; the same caution applies in your favour — this report is one input, not a defence on its own.
Why can't it read my Google Doc?
Google Docs keeps revision history in the cloud, not inside the file you export. The exported .docx is generated fresh at download time and carries no session markers at all.
